Caitlin Copple Masingill, a fourth-generation Idahoan, founded her firm Full Swing PR in Boise in February 2019. When Caitlin started Full Swing PR, she had modest goals for the company, but the overall vision of serving as a consultant for women leaders held strong and fast. In three years, Caitlin took Full Swing from solopreneur status to employing a team of 5 that provides public relations and marketing services through retainer contracts, a small group coaching program called Work Hard Once, and immersive PR VIP days. After rapid growth, Caitlin set a new goal: to become one of the 2% of women-owned businesses in the nation to reach more than $1 million in revenue.

Full Swing PR’s mission is to help women leaders be seen and sought after so they can create game-changing wealth online. In addition to founding a PR firm, Caitlin founded a sister-community called Electable. Electable is a nonpartisan online community that provides tools and resources to women running for local office.

Founder FAQ

What was it like scaling a business during a pandemic? Do you think having a remote business was beneficial?

“I think it was. I always wanted to build a remote business, I just thought that was the way the world was going even before COVID. As someone who is living in the Mountain West, I never understood why people feel like you must live in New York or LA to be successful. Once the pandemic hit, everyone started working remotely, so partnering with a PR company that has only ever been remote and not in New York or LA didn’t seem out of the ordinary anymore. The three main things I find clients want in a PR firm is values and personality alignment, and of course, results. Our track record is clear since we’ve had clients in the New York Times, TIME magazine, Forbes, Fast Company, Cosmopolitan, and many other top-tier national publications.“

What does the future hold for Full Swing PR?

“We’ll continue to help women leaders unlock the power of their influence. Internally, we’ll create more high-paying jobs for awesome team members and we’ll offer three months of paid parental leave, regardless of how long you’ve worked for us.  On the client side, I’m most passionate about shifting whose voices are being heard in the media and around a business’s decision-making table. When you look at who’s telling the stories in our country, or even here in Idaho, it’s not always the voices who are  most impacted. I want to make sure that everyone has a seat at the table so they’re not on the menu. Too often, especially here in Idaho, women, LGBTQ+ people, and people of color are on the menu. Many of us lack the power that comes from effectively telling our stories to influence the political and media environment. ”

What resources did you find helpful as a founder?

“The single most helpful resource that I’ve tapped into has been Hello Seven, a coaching community founded by Rachel Rodgers. Hello Seven is a progressive company that helps women, especially Black women and LGBTQ founders take their companies from  helps women take their companies from six figures to seven figures in revenue. I’d recommend connecting with them to any woman who wants to start and run their own successful business or take it to the next level.”
